It's August already
It sounds dramatic, but by August the end of the year is on the horizon. The Minnesota State Fair is the first sign of the end of summer. Then school starts and everyone shifts from making fun summer memories to getting things done. Those last outdoor projects, switching your clothing over as the weather gets cooler, and getting everyone up and out the door on time are signals of the cycle of the midwest. Summer moves into autumn and our moods shift. Work shifts. No more summer Fridays (if you are lucky enough to have them). Day to day living gets more predictable.
My advice, enjoy the last month of summer. For many HR teams and those of us on the health insurance, August kicks off the beginning of the renewal season. On average, 70% of business have a 1/1 renewal as well ACA/individual members and Medicare Advantage. It's all crammed in those last 3 - 4 months of the year.
So I am going to get a few more play dates in and enjoy the last month of summer. I hope you do too!
